A Lingering Look at Scottish Windows

This week in Kirkcudbright — pronounced Kirr-coo-bree — I have been checking out the property in the old town, notable for its colourful façades.  Obviously an excuse to have a  lingering look at the windows.

Some are very colourful:

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience.   1. Love your windows. I really need to do this challenge. Currently in the NL all the windows are decorated in bright orange EVERYTHING for the upcoming Football games.

  2. The perennial problem of where to start catchup, Jude, and I guess Kir-coo-bree’s not a bad spot 🙂 Not property hunting surely? Way too wet for you, but I have fondly distant memories of it.
    How were the Lakes? Did you go up to Galloway from there?

    Catchup- I ‘select’ a friend, then allow myself to be sidetracked by all the other friends I find in their comments. You have a better method?

    1. Nice to see you Jo. I hope Travira was wonderful as usual. I’m hopeless at catchup. Like you I get distracted by comments and then go on a tangent. I do try to look at my notifications archive and see who has commented and deal with those first!

      And yes, we had a week in Keswick then drove up to Galloway, staying an extra day to see a Jazz Brolly parade! How can I miss that?

  5. Coming via Cathy’s link – a post from before I met you so haven’t seen, a place I know and like, and, it seems from the comments, the genesis of the Bench Series. Hat trick!

    1. I loved the place Anabel. Seems very friendly and lively and some nice walks close by. Plus lots of lovely gardens and not so far from the Lake District. Which probably means it is wet. We did consider it though.
