Paris Focus: Rue Mouffetard

The second post about Paris is a photo essay of the food market and shops along the Rue  Mouffetard in Paris, France

Every thing you need for your kitchen can be found along this street from basic foodstuffs like bread, cheese, fruit and vegetables to flowers, wine, useful household goods and the aesthetic details like the beautiful lavender inspired napkins and tablecloths.

Not to mention ice cream.

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

    1. Everything looked wonderful. Great fat stalks of white asparagus, fresh seafood, cheeses to die for, fresh pasta… I’d love to have a pied-à-terre close by!

  1. Great to see streets of different shops, when they are mostly dying out here.
No doubt Paris now has its shopping malls too, but I suspect it will also retain its character in the centre.
    Best wishes, Pete. x

  2. Parisian markets are so colorful and vibrant! Wouldn’t it be nice to live close to markets such as these and to drop by for fresh food and colorful household items at least once a week? Thanks for the link, Jude! I’ll link it on March 21. 🙂

    1. Ludlow was a marvellous town for independent shops and regular markets, but to see something like this in the centre of a city like Paris was wonderful. I’d love a pied á terre here!

  3. I can tell you took your time wandering along this street, perhaps stopping for a baguette and cheese along the way. Lovely photos of the small details. My own memories come flooding back.
