Silent Sunday

Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour in Sydney Australia - Jacaranda Trees

The name “Tumbalong” is from Dharug as spoken by the Eora nation and means “place where seafood is found”.

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

    1. One of my favourite trees, I wish we grew them here. They do have them in Paris so you’d think we would have some, but I have never seen any in the UK.

  1. The jacarandas have been superb this year! Here they’ve almost finished flowering but further south they should be still in full bloom. I love seeing an avenue of trees like this. Many of our main streets are lined with them.

    1. Been a trying couple of weeks Gilly, but light at the end of the tunnel. Would have been the m-i-l’s 95th birthday today and our visit here would have been very different.
