With love from the Ludlow swans

…on Valentine’s Day.

I live in the UK, but when I was younger I spent several years travelling the world followed by a period living in South Africa. I look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

  1. They are beautiful , Jude! I aaaaalmost managed to get a photo like this last week, two second later the turtle swans swam apart and the ❤ was gone …

    With love to you…

    1. I am a Valentine’s Day conscientious objector, but hey, why not take advantage of the opportunity to post my swans 😀 And we will open the champagne tonight, but for a very different reason ❤

  2. A perfect shot to accompany the day. We do a quiet celebration, but don’t buy into the frenzy. A nice Burgundy for me later, which I prefer to the fizzy stuff. Have a wonderful day.
    Regards as always, Pete. x

    1. Sorry to hear you were sick Cathy, hope you are much better now and things are going well for you and the home renovations. Just been watching Michael Portillo journeying through your part of the world on the TV. You have some lovely places in Virginia.

      1. Thanks, Jude. I was so sick from Valentine’s Day until just last Sunday, but at least I’m feeling better now. The home renovations should be picking up momentum soon. I saw on your blog you’re about ready to move to Cornwall. I know you’ve been looking forward to that for a long time. Good luck with your move!

    1. I was watching them for some time, so nice to see the parents raise 5 young. When these two started mock fighting/courting I was hoping for the classic heart shape to appear. And then it did!

  3. What a beautiful photo Jude…I hope you had a lovely Valentine’s Day. I had my boys home this weekend for my mother’s 80th birthday (can’t believe it, she doesn’t look or act it!!) so I made heart shaped pancakes on Sunday for brunch 🙂 ❤

        1. Oh I didn’t know there were any there! I had been thinking of talking to the people in Dawlish who look after the waterfowl there as they have a number of black swans. Apparently they’re very very picky about choosing mates which is one reason Claremont haven’t brought another in.
