Bench series #35

For the month of August I’m looking for a colourful bench

(This month I want to see photos of a bench that is painted or stained or otherwise coloured in some way. Not the plain wooden variety unless there is some colour detail)

If you would like to join in with the Bench photo challenge then please take a look at my Bench Series page. No complicated rules, just a bench and a camera required 🙂

  • Create your own post and title it Bench Series: August
  • Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
  • Add the tag ‘bench series’ so everyone can find the benches easily in the WP Reader
  • Get your post in by the end of the month, as the new bench theme comes out on the first Sunday in September.

This is the last week for your colourful benches, next Sunday we start looking for metal ones.

My Picks of the Week:

Meg has an odd one for us this week, she thinks it is a bench. See what you think. Meanwhile Tgeriatrix has the most unusual and colourful benches I have ever seen! These benches just get better and better. VioletSky has a couple for us this week, some very bright ones and a floating one. And Pauline has a bit of a rude one for us this week.

As always there are so many delightful benches to view, I hope you will check out the other links within the comment section.

Heyjude

I now live in the UK, but spent several years travelling and then living in South Africa. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

    1. It is a wonderful clock, a zodiac clock, or nychthemeron, coloured blue and gold. The blue of the bench is Wade blue, named after the particular colour that the last owner, Charles Paget Wade, adored.

    1. This is an extraordinary place Sue. I will have to write about it. That clock is a zodiac clock, or nychthemeron. The bench is Wade blue (named after the last owner of the property).

  1. Adam and Eve look unusual, but they don’t leave you much room to sit. I have to go with Tgeriatrix and her mosaic benches, as I have not seen the like, anywhere.
    Regards as always, Pete. x

  2. Very nice. Shame it doesn’t hinge downwards like a folding table, then it could cover people in the rain. Pity I wasn’t there to provide my insights during the planning stage.

    1. Most of the outdoor ‘furniture’ was painted in this particular shade of blue – named Wade Blue after the last owner. He was a little eccentric.

  3. I have a *thing* about clocks and watchs. This one is gorgeous – especially when colour coordinated with the bench.
… or maybe it’s the stone nook they are built into. It all works!

  4. Jude this looks like a lovely little protected spot. At first glance I thought thank goodness that bench is tucked inside because the ‘billboard’ above looks like it could come crashing down. Safer to climb a mountain probably. 🙂
