Broken

broken

broken shutters hide
broken promises inside
shattered by your lies

Heyjude

I now live back in the UK, but spent several years travelling the world and then living in South Africa. I look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

    1. No, not at all 😀
The building is a lot prettier in colour, but when I converted it I felt a much darker mood. Hence the poem 🙂

  1. I was so focused on the washing I didn’t see the broken shutter, Jude, but I did spot the haiku 🙂 Well done you! Love the moodiness of the photo.

  2. Excellent departure, Jude….. Poem goes very well with the image, and I love your use of monochrome with a splash of colour…..

    1. Funny how washing abroad looks much more photogenic than washing at home. I wouldn’t dream of photographing my neighbours bits and pieces on the line 😉

  3. Love your haiku together with the photo Jude, and the splash of orange really makes it. You know how I love anything eluding to a darker story. Very evocative. And just to say, I really hoped to be able to get my bench post out this week, but have to take my laptop in (long story) so will it be okay to do it next week? Sorry to be a pain… xx

      1. Thanks Jude! I’ve had to send my laptop back to the manufacturer’s so back to the old one which is soooooo slow. It’s been such a frustrating time, and has a lot to do with my lack of blogging lately. Hope to get a post up a bit later, and I will be over to you again to catch up as soon as. Hope you didn’t get too much of a battering with the storm. My poor lupins are flattened 😦 (But my roses are fine this time!) xx

    1. As you can see I have used this technique sparingly and still have to count the syllables by hand. 5 – 7 – 5 and even look some words up to double check it is the number of syllables I think it is! Hard work this Haiku lark 🙂
