Bench series #15

For the month of April I’m looking for benches with a view

Montreux lakeside
Montreux has a beautiful lakeside promenade lined with palm trees and flowers.

If you would like to join in with the Bench photo challenge then please take a look at my Bench Series page. No complicated rules, just a bench and a camera required 🙂

  • Create your own post and title it Bench Series: April
  • Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
  • Add the tag ‘bench series’ so everyone can find the benches easily in the WP Reader
  • Get your post in by the end of the month, as the new bench theme comes out on the first Sunday in May.

My Picks of the Week:

Sue takes us to her favourite spot for relaxing.
Anabel is in the Lake District (where I know there are lots of benches with views)
Debbie warns you against sitting on her bench this week and Marsha has another bench on a beach.
Ladysighs comes up with an interesting bench and an even more interesting poem. How does she do it?

Thank you for linking up your benches with views 🙂

I live in the UK, but when I was younger I spent several years travelling the world followed by a period living in South Africa. I look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

    1. I did sit on one for a couple of hours waiting for the OH to arrive from Geneva, lake and people watching. It is one of the nicest promenades alongside a lake that I have seen. The flora is astonishing!

  1. Although the benches are wet, and don’t look to comfortable, I have to go with the view of the Blue Mosque. Fond memories of trips to Istanbul.
    Regards as always, Pete. x

    1. It was a great spot for people watching! I have just remembered some notes I made whilst sitting along there. Might turn them into a post 🙂

    1. I love your post and the fact you included benches especially for me. Funny isn’t it at how our lives have changed since blogging. I now see things and think of other bloggers – Jo would love this walk, Meg would like that pattern, M-R would find this amusing… or is it just me?

      1. No, that is rather how it goes 🙂 I’ve even got Mick chiming in ‘bench challenge’ now! (but he does it to be annoying 🙂 ) I find it remarkably easy to ‘switch off’ from the social aspect when I’m in the Algarve but I still ‘see’ shots in that way. I collected a few more benches, naturally! 🙂

        1. Sadly I collected a lot of benches too! They do provide a good subject / focus for a shot, but I really need to find something different!

        2. One or two possibilities, nothing ‘perfect’ but I think I am beyond finding perfection! We have decided on the location though which should help us focus and we are back in Penzance at the end of May 🙂

  2. We’re on holidays on North Stradbroke Island off the coast of Brisbane this week and I keep finding benches with gorgeous views everywhere I go. I am developing a severe case of bench obsession. When we’re home again I’ll be posting one for you!

  3. I am sure the view is mainly of the water – but the gardens in the border are so beautiful too. 🙂 I want to sit on the bench….
