Bench series #9

For the month of March I’m looking for Wooden benches

Ludlow Memorial Park

If you would like to join in with the Bench photo challenge then please take a look at my Bench Series page. No complicated rules, just a bench and a camera required 🙂

  • Create your own post and title it Bench Series: March
  • Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
  • Add the tag ‘bench series’ so everyone can find the benches easily in the WP Reader
  • Get your post in by the end of the month, as the new bench theme comes out on the first Sunday in April

My Picks of the Week:

Cathy has a selection in Victoria, I quite fancy sitting in the rotunda
or perhaps on this small bench (made for skinny people?) under the shade of the tree found by Aletta.
Klara has got an interesting perspective of a bench this week.
Pauline has discovered a bench she had forgotten about, whilst Sylvia takes us to the beach in Sanibel
and Debbie is on Broadway.

Thanks all for joining in with the black and white theme.

Heyjude

I now live back in the UK, but spent several years travelling the world and then living in South Africa. I look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

  1. I like the benches either side of the ‘hole in the wall’. Nice framing. Your main photo; looks like a scythe is required to get to that one Jude!
    Regards as always, Pete. x

    1. It’s in a wildflower meadow Pete around the ‘modern’ cemetery (which has little of the character of the older ones I’m afraid – can’t see photographers flocking to any of these sites in future years) so it is a place of rest and tranquillity, and where you can watch the meadow butterflies.

    1. Apparently some people did find it a bit too harsh on the eyes. I kind of miss it too, it was a ray of sunshine when I opened up the blog each day, which is more than we have today 😦
Maybe I’ll get used to this, if not, there will be changes… 😉

    1. This is a quiet bench, and a lovely spot to sit and read a book, though I have only used it to relax on for a short time and watch butterflies. As I don’t have a garden I do like to sit on benches and take in the surroundings in a garden, and I do use them to regain my breath on a walk. But I don’t sit for hours at a time. For one thing, some are very uncomfortable 🙂

  2. Oh, I very much like some of the challenges I’m seeing here. I might not do them all, but I think I might enjoy watching even if I’m not participating. What great ideas!

  3. It looks like the bench is in the middle of nowhere. However, I’m sure it’s in a very useful spot.
Do you make it a habit to sit on the benches you photograph? 🙂
