Pimm’s o’clock

What says Summer Lovin’ to you?

Published by

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

  1. I recall this photo Jude, and I liked the work on it at the time.
Julie is our Pimm’s aficionado, but I don’t think she has had the exotic flavour you show here.
    Regards as always, Pete. x

      1. Thanks for the link Pete. Very interesting article. Maybe it is all that history that keeps me here 🙂

And yes, I posted this image almost a year ago on my photo blog, but it really does say summer to me, though I confess that I haven’t had any Pimm’s this year – yet 😉

  2. Count me in too, I’ll be right over for a lovely pre-holiday drink, anytime is Pimm’s O’Clock 🙂 Love the Blackberry and Elderflower label (got a bottle myself!) and your photos are so artsy, love the special effects 🙂 I just took a quick look at my emails and had to quickly come over here. Cheers Jude 😀 xx

    1. Thanks Lisa – I thought of beaches and beach huts and then I remembered this photo from last summer. No-one drinks Pimm’s in winter do they?

  3. Now there’s a blast from the past ! – I haven’t heard of a Pimm’s for YONKS ! 🙂 And you’re right, Jude – very summery indeed !

    1. I’m not sure that you can actually taste blackberry, but I do like elderflower and if you mix this with an elderflower sparkling soft drink it is pretty good. Come and join us Gilly 🙂

    1. Touché, Jo. I did play around with this image. I think you’d have to drink a lot of Pimm’s and usually I’ve had enough after a couple of glasses. A bit too sweet for me really. But it is such a traditional summer drink, one has to have at least one bottle 😀

    1. Dry ginger is good – not sure I have tried that with Pimm’s though, what a good idea. I usually add a cloudy lemonade or an elderflower. Happy to try the ginger though – welcome Elizabeth 😉

    1. Yup, 0730 is starting a leetle early unless you work on the theory that back in the US it would still be the early hours of the night so you could be partying????
